A self taught artist, the impulse to create visually was sparked at the age of 12 when I became inspired to spend hours drawing and listening to music, with no particular goal in mind other than pure enjoyment of the process. Although I have never dedicated time to the formal study of art, it has been a beloved skill that has accompanied me through life.
For me, painting is a meditation of looking deeply while guided by the intuitive whims of the unconscious mind. I find that dropping into such a state of awareness is a balancing, joyful, and often transcendental experience as I weave layers of line, color, and pattern together to create a new and unique interpretation of reality.
